Atkinson & Atkinson was founded in 1989 by John and Dale Atkinson. We have represented several associations of regulatory boards since 1965 affording us the opportunity to work in a voluminous number of areas involving association and regulatory law.  Much of our knowledge concerning associations and association law stems from our attendance and presentations at meetings of our clients and others.

In addition to our association representations, our firm generally engages in the corporate/commercial practice of the law.  We represent several close corporations and, accordingly, we have had exposure to a multitude of corporate matters including contracts, corporate tax matters, minutes, and annual reports.

What We Do

501(c)(3) status - file for and obtain exempt status; advise clients on the permissible and impermissible activities of a tax exempt organization; and general tax questions including areas involving unrelated income and royalties.

Develop practice acts, regulations, and codes of ethics.

Employment relations matters - general employment problems involving discrimination claims, ADA, state and federal administrative proceedings.

Assist with general issues in conducting delegate assembly meetings; the drafting and presentation of resolutions; nominations; and election procedures.

Develop and provide educational presentations on the legal aspects of licensure, credentialing, discipline, board operations, board liability, antitrust laws.

Draft and review articles of incorporation, constitutions, by-laws, and codes of ethics.
